Budget Infographics

We turn complex state budget tables into simple charts. We show how much money actually goes to parliamentary offices, business travel, and expert opinions. Our data helps understand what public money is spent on in each quarter of the year.

Where does our spending data come from?

In 2023, the Polish Sejm spent over 157 million PLN on the maintenance of parliamentary offices alone. Most of this information is hidden in thick PDF files that no one has time to read. We download these documents every 3 months, transcribe the numbers into our tables, and check whether every zloty is justified. Numbers don't lie, which is why we focus on facts, not what politicians say on television.

Our work involves extracting specific amounts. We checked the tables: the average Member of Parliament spends about 2,940 PLN per month on fuel for their private car, even if they have free train travel. We compile such data into clear graphics that you can use in your articles, social media posts, or civic reports. We deliver ready-made sheets within 48 hours of placing an order.

What exactly will you find in our reports?

  • A breakdown of foreign travel costs for each of the 460 MPs.
  • Charts of expenditures for legal expertises ordered by individual committees.
  • A summary of bills for hotels and accommodation for parliamentarians outside Warsaw.
  • Analysis of the costs of maintaining the Chancellery of the Sejm's car fleet on an annual cycle.

At Sejmometr Media, we don't engage in political commentary. Without political jargon, we simply show that, for example, in March 2024, one of the committees spent 12,450 PLN on catering during three meetings. Such details allow for a better understanding of the scale of public spending than general slogans about savings. Each infographic is signed with the data source, so no one can accuse you of manipulation.

Currently, 83 active clients use our reports, including local journalists and associations concerned with the transparency of public life. We don't look for sensation where there is none, but we point out rounding errors that we found in 14 reports last quarter. Only concrete data provides a complete picture of the situation in parliament.

Perhaps you're wondering if this data is publicly available. Yes, it is, but processing it usually takes 3-4 business days for someone who knows Excel. We've been doing this professionally since 2019 and have our own scripts that catch anomalies in parliamentary office spending faster than any official. You pay for the time saved and the certainty that the chart reflects the actual situation with accuracy down to the last penny.
